i’d love to, if we’re the right fit!
i offer a behavioral based, existential/nihilistic, solution focused approach (i.e. i’m direct) - i’ll work with you if you agree to put in the work outside of our sessions. we're in this together.
i treat female-identified, trans and non-binary folks only.
i am available during your scheduled appointment time only. i do not provide intensive outpatient (IOP) or higher level care, including ED 1.5+ LOC, crisis intervention or after-hours assistance.
NOTE ON AGE OF TEENS: y’all need to be in high school (or PCC) - the youngest i treat is a graduated 8th grader the summer before their freshman year. there are no exceptions to this rule at deep space.
-
i do not.
i can provide a monthly superbill, at your request, for you to submit to your insurance for out-of-network reimbursement. see the fee’s page for billing codes if you’d like to check your benefits prior to scheduling.

not at this time. in person therapy seems to benefit folks most (especially post-covid). having a dedicated space away from your normal environments helps focus the mind on the task at hand without distraction.
should you need virtual due to geographical challenges, many therapists provide this service and can be filtered for on Psychology Today.

being in a group encourages the development of communication skills, social skills, the ability to accept and give critique in a constructive manner, and learn how you relate to others in a safe environment so you may take those skills into your relationships outside of therapy.
group therapy is more effective than individual therapy, according to research, and though buy-in towards groups initially starts at around 30%, by the end of group buy-in increases to at least 80%.
this tells us that fear is the only thing that may be holding you back from a more affordable way to treat your mental health. it’s a proven, beneficial risk to take! (i’m passionate for a reason hahaha)

great! head to the contact page and fill out the form. you’ll be contacted to schedule your intake shortly. you may also email me at amber@deepspacepdx.com.

yes/maybe; group therapy goes nicely with an individual therapist as you are able to process what comes up from group. group fit and whether or not you’ll need an individual therapist will be determined at your intake.

i’m a human, winging it like everyone else. my favorite food is french fries. i like reading speculative fiction novels - currently the saint of bright doors by vajra chandrasekera. running in forest park resets my soul. my community means everything to me. i love camping, being outside, getting dirty, but also love fashion and style - anything aesthetically pleasing, sign me up.
i started making my own chai like the hippy my mom always figured i’d become. to some, i have quite the knack for sarcasm coupled with a deep affinity for humanity. i recently started painting and playing guitar the last few years (like many in quarantine). i’m a fairly open book and enjoy the human experience most of the time.
